  • The circuits Hikes & Trains will lead you to the discovery of the villages of the high valley of the Ariège and the "Corniche" by walking on the roads formerly used by the villagers to go from one village to the other. You will discover many vestiges of the life of the peasants and from the life of the villagers: fountains, washhouses, culture terraces, mills, Romanesque churches ...

  • From the station, go up the RN20 towards the city center. Turn left between the casino and Les Bains du Couloubret and follow the street that goes up to the cemetery. From there, a trail rises rapidly to reach the subdivision Le Bosquet, then, it ascent again and reaches the village of Ignaux. In front of the church, take an alley on the left, follow a kindergarten, then descend on a paved trail to two water pond. A path leads to the right, in the forest and then on the side of the slope...
    From the station, go up the RN20 towards the city center. Turn left between the casino and Les Bains du Couloubret and follow the street that goes up to the cemetery. From there, a trail rises rapidly to reach the subdivision Le Bosquet, then, it ascent again and reaches the village of Ignaux. In front of the church, take an alley on the left, follow a kindergarten, then descend on a paved trail to two water pond. A path leads to the right, in the forest and then on the side of the slope until the village of Vaychis where you will join the center.

    Take the main road (RD44) to the right until the village of Tignac where you go towards a church to find the path that slightly descend on the path garnished with old terraces . At the hairpin turn, take the direction of Unac (the trail is not marked on a few hundred meters). Quickly find a track that goes down to the village of Unac and its beautiful Romanesque church.
     
    Cross the church's square and turn left onto the road for about 500m. At the wide turn, one finds the path leading on the heights of Luzenac. Go down on the first alley to the left. In front of the town hall, turn right on Rue Principale, cross the Ariège river and turn right just before the bridge of the railway.
    The train station is about 800m away.
