  • The path called "chemin du Llata" that crosses a beech and pine tree forest is an old path that used to lead the animals from the hamlet of Petches towards their summer place at the Col de Joux.

  • Departure from the Car Park next to the Rial Bridge (accessible by car from Ax - 8km with a stony surfacing from Petches)
    Leave the road to goes up to the left by a path (called "chemin de Llata") that goes along the Rial stream. Follow the yellow marking. Cross a trail and continue in the forest until reaching the hut of the Col de Joux (1702 of altitude).
    The way back can be done on the same path or on the path called "chemin des Charbonnières".
