Chapel. Bypass the chapel to get to the viewpoint indicator and admire the point of view. Go back in front of the sanctuary and then turn your back on it. Take the path on the right that goes into the wood (carefully as the descent is steep). When you're out of the wood, the path turns right on the edges, and then it goes back again under the trees before getting out of them definitely. Then it weaves through the mountain before getting back the junction you first meet in the climb. Come back down to the village.

Points of interest
1 The Ways of the cross
Between the Col Dollent and Saint-Barthélémy chapel, the town has created a calvary with some superb wrought-iron crosses, all differents, in order to commemorate the dark matter that plunged into mourning the village of Larcat. So, the faithful get together every August 24th (On Saint-Barthélemy day) at the Col Dolent, they take part to a procession along the Ways of the Cross and they attend the Mass which is celebrated in the chapel. This beautiful tradition has the advantage of joining faith, beauty of the landscape and festive meeting between the inhabitants of the village.
2 Saint-Barthélémy chapel
The massacre by the inhabitants of Larcat of a family that was fleeing the village of Sarradeil, which is located in the neighboring valley of Gestiès and which was devastated by cholera, did not prevent their village from being infected in 1854 by the terrible disease. The damages having being done, the survivors decided to thank God for sparing them and they erected a chapel on the Sarrat of Mietjoun. They made the vow to meet here every year on Saint-Barthélémy day to celebrate a Mass there as Saint-Barthélémy is the patron saint of the village.

Excellent
  • rando chapelle St Barthelemy Larcat
